After a virtual edition last year due to the pandemic, CLIMB-BIG-DATA held its 8th Microbial Bioinformatics Hackathon from 11th – 13th of September in Bath city – together with BBSRC/FSA Food Safety Network – just before the 13th International Meeting on Microbial Epidemiological Markers (IMMEM XIII), which was held in the same city.
The event brought together 25 key internationally renowned bioinformaticians and medical/molecular microbiologists, epidemiologists, and clinicians from 9 different countries to address targeted challenges in microbial bioinformatics and global public health; including:
- Antimicrobial resistance in the food chain
- Benchmarking datasets for bioinformatics tool validation
- Scaling biological informatics methods
